Witches have known forever that everywhere in nature there is male and female. Humans are male and female. Within each of us lies attributes of each sex. Females have both male and female hormones, as do males. There must be balance in nature. If The Divine created us and we are a combination of male and female then our Creator is a combination of two sides, of two parts. (Who knows, maybe more).
Wiccans then see The Divine as God and Goddess. One is NOT more important than the other for they need both sides to exist. The Divine is everything including male and female. Why limit The Divine to just being a male or just being a female? The Divine is limitless. The Divine is everything and everything is The Divine.
You might hear Pagans use God and Goddess interchangably. It all means the same, The Divine, The One. Some people will also refer to The God/ Goddess as The Mother or The Father. Whatever you call The Divine, it all means the same. God, Allah, Goddess, Father, Lord and Savior. Blessed Be!
I introduce my baby girl, "witchy helper", Neeva von Braverhund. She is my family's pet. Neeva is a 4 year old German Shephard bitch. She is one of my loves. I put "helper" in quotes because she really doesn't help in my rituals or spells. She does give me inspiration and comfort and love, so I guess in a sense she does help. Mainly, she just lies around looking at me quizzically & looks out the window barking at other dogs. She also manages to keep my feet warm and gives me lots of kisses, sometimes at odd time; like when I'm sleeping.
